I hope you are all enjoying a happy and healthy summer. It has been about a month since out last meeting in June. Several of us were at the yard sale last weekend, sponsored by the Tall Cedars, and we raised about $149 at the Eastern Star table (most of the goods were donated by the Barricks -thank you) We don’t have another regular meeting scheduled until Oct. 7th, however we do have things planned over the summer.
July 20th St Johns Lodge is hosting a Table Lodge which is open to the public. The meal is 7 courses and the cost is $20 per person, Harvey and I will be there and there is a reservation form online at http://stjohns37.org/table-lodge if you would like to reserve a seat and pay at the door.
August 3rd our district has a proficiency class from 9:30 am until 3pm at Ormond Beach Lodge # 326 (270 Kenilworth Ave, Ormond Beach) There will be coffee and donuts at 9:30 and plan to start the proficiency class at 10am. Soup and sandwiches will be served for lunch.
August 24th at 3pm we are having our Rob Morris picnic at St. Johns Lodge. We also are to bring a wrapped gift/prize for a bingo game.
We will have pizza 🍕 and each person is to pay $5 dollars each. Please invite your friends, the Rainbow Girls and anyone you think could develop an interest in Eastern Star. Pizza will be ordered from Stavros and I will bring a garden salad, so RSVPs are appreciated.
September 29 at 2:00pm there will be a Ritual/floorwork Boot camp (practice) in New Smyrna. This is a great time to visit with other Star and brush up on floor work, secret work and ritual
As far as I know we don’t have anything else scheduled for September. I would like to suggest either a potluck lunch or dinner where everyone brings their favorite salad. We can also run through our own floorwork and have a secret work practice at that time and make sure that we are all ready for or Official Inspection which will be during our second meeting in Oct. Let me know if there is a date that definitely works (or doesn’t work) for your schedules.
Oct. 7th is our first meeting after summer break.
I would love to hear back from everyone about their summer adventures and anything else going on in your lives.
